Is Refinishing Your Stairs a DIY Job? Here’s What You’ll Need
I’m walking you through every tool and material you need to install new stair treads and renovate an old staircase from start to finish. I’ll show you how to install Cali stair treads with integrated nosing, use pressure-sensitive adhesive, measure uneven stairs with a stair tread template tool, build up each step with plywood, install HDF risers, and finish the project with wood trim.
You’ll also see why I use a stair tread roller, staple gun and brad nailer, sliding 12-inch miter saw, table saw, square, measuring tape, and different plywood thicknesses to get every tread level, secure, and properly fitted. Follow the process one step at a time and you can turn an ugly staircase into a clean, professional-looking stair renovation.
